Mark Cuban on Bitcoin

Cuban engaged in a conversation with CNBC to delve into the possibilities associated with Bitcoin. During the discussion, he examined the inherent volatility of Bitcoin and delved into its susceptibility to fluctuations based on the number of users involved in the currency. "It's not inconceivable that the the number of people that own [bitcoin] could more than double," Cuban told CNBC Make It just before Coinbase went public. Although, "[t]hat's not to say the price won't increase in volatility and/or go down in price significantly," he says, "but that opportunity for it to go much higher certainly exists and I think over the long-term, it's the more likely case."
Cuban has expressed scepticism regarding the practicality of Bitcoin as a substitute currency, asserting that he views it more as a store of value akin to collectibles such as baseball cards. "With Bitcoin, some people value it as a store of value, which makes it like baseball cards, art, [and] gold"... "people want to invest in it because they think, if certain circumstances occur, there will be other potential buyers at that value."
